In the middle I had stopped listening to as many podcasts as I used to. Video blogs were something I generally avoided. However, for various reasons this has changed in recent weeks.
Podcasts.
Since I am not an iTunes user, Podcasting was something that had never really worked well for me. Recently though, I have started using pluggd and that has re-ignited my interest in podcasts. Combined with the improved handling of podcasts by feed readers (e.g. Google Reader), I am regularly listening to a number of science, tech and music podcasts. Make for great early morning, late night, or in the car listening.
Video
Video blogs and other video-based content is fairly new in my lexicon. However, the excellence of shows like CommandN, the Scoble Show, and Rocketboom has definitely got me interested. Scoble especially, even though his style is not the best, gets some great guests, making it a must see.
In addition, the recent addition of video to Digg, the release of StumbleVideo, etc is going to make video the media to watch in 2007.

The picture is at our apartment complex in Bellevue. The snow came in thick. I am sure the Packers who were here for Monday Night Football must have felt right at home (but the 'Hawks won).
It's freezing too. They lied about the weather. That said, it does look pretty outside. Of course, I am not planning to get used to this. People in this city act like there was a blizzard (the offices were empty, the roads were empty, schools got a snow day). I think it snowed an inch or something like that
Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?

I am my own top hit, so I am not complaining :)
What were you afraid of as a child that seems silly to you now?

Cows ... come to think of it, I am not sure it is silly
There is still one more match to play, but I will say it anyway, especially since he beat Rafa. What a year from Roger Federer. The man is incredible. Three majors, possibly the Masters, more prize money than anyone in history, and he lost to only two men; Nadal and Andy Murray. And ... here's the best part. In a few months, he will take over Ivan Lendl's "most consecutive weeks at #1" record.
Since time immemorial, I have been a user of Yahoo services and even today am a heavy user of flickr and del.icio.us. However, other yahoo services are fast going away from my arsenal. I finally removed My Yahoo as one of my home page tabs in Firefox. Yahoo mail has such poor performance that using it is only a matter of necessity. Last, but not the least, the Yahoo portal and other pages are just so busy and bad looking that I don't even bother anymore.
Even the aforementioned del.icio.us and flickr haven't visibly benefited from their acquisition (back end scalability is not quite that obvious to the user). I wonder what the company is doing? Is it any wonder that for the time being they are getting their lunch handed to them by Google
Kathy Sierra is one of my favorite bloggers (perhaps my favorite). She has a wonderful post on using graphics in blogs, presentations, etc that I recommend to anyone and everyone.
And of course I have to add some sort of graphic to this post, so I'll just add one of Kathy's books.

Linux (Ubuntu in particular). Open source, can be used on a computer I build, tons of cool apps, etc etc etc
MacOS is a little behind. Windows a LONG way behind
